Born in Wiesbaden, Germany in 1973 to his German father and New Zealand mother, who met in the US and got married in Singapore, where he was conceived.
Grew up in Hamburg, next to fields and forests, until his parents got tired of the cold war and brought the family to Australia for a warmer climate.
Mistakenly studied mechanical engineering but got to study and live in Stockholm for two years on exchange and learn Swedish as a trade-off.
His father dreamed of being a photographer and his mother did some photojournalism, so cameras were always around.
Never trusted digital until he got intimate with a Canon 10D attached to a 50mm f/1.4 lens. This converted him to the digital world.
Since then he’s been on a rampage, shooting anyone and anything in sight.
